Howerton+White is looking for a full-time, in-person copywriter. As a marketing copywriter, you will interview, research, and write marketing and advertising content for a wide variety of media (short- and long-form content) and work closely with graphic designers, digital managers, and creative directors. This is a great opportunity to join a well-respected and dynamic team of marketing strategists and gain valuable experience working with global, regional, and local clients in a wide variety of industries. Applicants must demonstrate error-free, compelling writing; be well-organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow established brand voice guidelines and internal/external creative direction in writing copy for various platforms, audiences, and channels
  • Develop blog articles, social posts, formatted emails, direct mail, long-form articles, advertising copy, and online content to support inbound marketing efforts, account-based marketing and sales, projects, and campaigns
  • Manage time well by completing assignments within time and budget constraints
  • Adjust quickly to changing priorities and quick-turn needs with a positive, solution-oriented attitude
  • Follow and take direction, recognizing there is always another way to express a thought
  • Collaborate with designers, digital developers, and creative directors in brainstorming and strategy meetings
  • Conduct phone and in-person interviews with the utmost professionalism to gather insights and key benefit language on behalf of clients
  • Write process-driven content for digital channels and campaigns: keywords, search terms, calls to action, Google Display Network ad copy, and more
  • Expand marketing knowledge and capabilities by participating in online webinars, certifications, and professional development activities


  • Excellent writing, grammar, and communication skills
  • 3+ years of writing experience within an agency, news organization, freelance, or corporate setting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word
  • Ability to research effectively, quickly absorb information, and distill into meaningful content
  • Writing samples will be required
  • Daily timekeeping using H+W’s internal time-tracking system
  • Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing, communications, English, journalism, or equivalent experience
  • Must be able to work at the downtown Wichita, Kansas location
